TheSeaOfWine Project – TheSeaOfWine project is funded by EU and aims to promote the positioning of the Black Sea region as an important wine tourism destination and help wine tourism stakeholders develop common approaches for the promotion of their travel products. Using the existing resources and capacities, and more importantly the commonalities of the partner countries of TheSeaOfWine project it will be favorable to jointly develop regional wine tourism brand which definitely will have a greater impact than it would by promoting individually.



FAO pilot study: Policy Indicators - Monitoring and Analysing of Food and Agricultural Policies (MAFAP) for Selected Countries of the Former Soviet Union. The MAFAP project produces a set of indicators that measure the impact of policies and market performance on different commodities, countries and over time. In order to develop a better understanding how national agricultural policies incentivize or disincentivize economic activities in the agriculture sector, FAO in collaboration with the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia and national researchers conducted a pilot study on surveying quantitative policy indicators in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova.



Exploring the Potential for Agricultural and Biomass Trade in the Commonwealth of Independent States (AGRICISTRADE) - The aim of the project is to provide insights into the agricultural production potentials in the 8 countries of interest, namely Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine, in order to increase the understanding of possible impacts of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreements (DCFTAs) on the EU agriculture and food sector. Determine how an improved use of the presently untapped possibilities in these countries will affect international markets under evolving demand changes.



Agricultural Statistics Development Project - The objective of this project is collaborating with the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT) to improve agricultural data in Georgia by enhancing the capacity of GEOSTAT to collect, analyze and disseminate Agricultural statistics. In addition, NASS, with the support of ICARE, is beginning work with the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) to develop an effective agricultural information system to produce information for informed decision making.



Strengthening Higher Agribusiness Education in Georgia - USDA/FAS/CADI-funded project, supported by the technical assistance from the International Center for Agribusiness Research and Education (ICARE), aimed at strengthening the educational field. Project played a significant role in the education development process in Georgia particularly in the area of higher agricultural education. Under the project GCAD provided free English language course for students and professors from three universities. The beneficiary universities were Georgian State Agricultural University (Tbilisi), Shota Rustaveli State University (Batumi) and the Akaki Tsereteli State University (Kutaisi). GCAD has trained over 400 students and up to 100 lecturers of above mentioned universities.



USDA funded exchange programs for Georgian university students during 2006-2017 with full scholarships including accommodation expenses for: Undergraduate Agribusiness Program (UAB) and Master of Agribusiness Program (MAB) at the Texas A&M University Department of Agriculture at National Agrarian University of Armenia. The program was funded by the USDA and accounts more than 60 successful Georgian graduates, who are currently playing key leadership roles in the economy of the country and in the transition to democratic civil society.
